Why did you start training with Maki Performance Training?:_I had been with other trainers over the years but had remained a fit fat guy – basically a guy that could play any sport and run some distances but still out of shape.  My hockey playing had started to plateau and my running was not getting better.  I needed some one to help me get stronger, fitter and, if possible, more powerful.

What results have you noticed since your time training here?
: I noticed results right away on the ice.  I got faster and was much harder to push off the puck.  But as Maki continued to train me I noticed a lot more.  I started to lose some weight that I had been carrying for at least a decade.  I started fitting clothes better and, consequently, I started to need new clothes that fit better.  Over the last 2 years I have noticed that my running times are not just better, fully a minute per mile better, but I can run much longer distances.  This year I will have completed 4 half-marathons, more than I did in my previous lifetime combined.   

What do you enjoy most about training with Maki Performance Training?  Maki is a true professional in all sense of the word.  He makes sure you are doing the exercises properly at all times.  Each time I meet with him I know two things are going to happen.  First, he will make me laugh because he believes that having fun should be part of a strenuous workout.  Secondly, he makes every workout completely different so I have no idea what to expect when I show up.  
 
What would you say to anyone who is considering training with Maki Performance Training?
:  I have seen Maki train young kids and mature adults.  I have seen him train very fit people and other people just starting to get back into some fitness routine.  What I have noticed about all of these is that they leave his training sweaty but smiling.  He gets all of them to train hard but to enjoy themselves as well.  I am fortunate that I have been trained by him on both a one-on-one basis and in group training.  He truly excels at both and adapts the workouts to be tailored for whom is training with him.
